Over 1.5 million survey points: the wealth of Fondasol's historical data is at the core of our digital revolution.

Our project goes beyond merely transferring data from one application to another for use during a project and future reference. It aims to deploy a new value chain in construction engineering by:

  • Leveraging geostatistics, artificial intelligence, and human expertise.
  • Promoting agility, interaction, and interoperability.
  • Integrating BIM processes and digital modeling.

By collaborating with reliable technical partners and incorporating new expertise within the Group—data scientists, data engineers, project managers—we can generate predictive models that enhance engineers' critical thinking, provide efficient decision-support tools, and contribute to the decarbonization of our activities.

Predict, Interpret, Decide: SOLSCORE

SOLSCORE: A Predictive Geotechnical Analysis and Modeling Tool

SOLSCORE combines the extensive Fondasol database with the power of algorithms to provide engineers with instant insights and comprehensive information on the risks associated with subsurface hazards at a specific site.

This information allows us to design tailored investigation campaigns aligned with our clients’ project requirements, enabling validation of the initial model when necessary.

The model evolves by integrating new survey data: as more data is added, uncertainties and risks are significantly reduced.

SOLSCORE also optimizes design recommendations and construction solutions, such as excavation for underground spaces, structure-to-water table interaction, foundation type and depth, or adjacent area development.

Additional features include access to maps, generation of documentary surveys, and retrieval of data from past or ongoing projects.

Acquire field data, connect teams: SMI

Launched in 2014, our first generation of tablets provided us with valuable experience in using digital tools in the field.

In 2023, we completely revamped our approach to further connect our field and office teams through a comprehensive, custom-built Investigation Management System (SMI).

Used by over 600 employees in France and internationally, this innovative system includes two interconnected applications: one tailored for engineering teams and the other for on-site teams, both linked via a shared cloud platform.

SMI facilitates seamless communication and data exchange between the office and the field.
It offers enhanced workflow fluidity, integrates more information, and ensures higher-quality data acquisition. It also enables real-time adjustments and faster delivery of preliminary results.

The system supports our geotechnical, environmental, and hydrogeological data, with plans for progressive expansion to encompass all of our other areas of expertise.

SOILCLOUD

Process Surveys and In-Situ Tests: SoilCloud

At every stage of our production chain, we are transitioning our tools into interconnected web applications.

As the cornerstone of this transformation, the web application provided by SoilCloud supports the digitalization of the survey and in-situ testing process, while also enabling the consolidation of geotechnical, geophysical, hydrogeological, and environmental data across the Group.

Between January 2021 and August 2024, nearly 30,000 projects—representing 200,000 surveys, including 50,000 pressuremeter surveys and 300,000 pressuremeter tests—have been integrated and processed within the application by the 375 users of Groupe Fondasol.

Calculate & Design: PYXIS

Building on Fondasol’s decades of expertise in calculations, PYXIS is our web application that centralizes tools for geotechnical modeling and calculations.

PYXIS is an interoperable, flexible, and user-friendly cloud-based solution offering a range of everyday tools for engineering calculations and the interpretation of specific tests. It enables comparative calculations across multiple areas of expertise, including foundations, hydrogeology, stability, and seismic analysis.

Since its deployment in mid-2021, PYXIS has supported over 10,000 projects and 25,000 calculations as of summer 2024, with approximately 1,200 calculations performed each month by its 270 users.

BIM and Digital Modeling: Data Transcription and Visualization

Extending Our BIM Expertise Across All Our Activities

We are broadening our BIM expertise to encompass all areas of our operations, particularly through the transcription of field-acquired and technical data into interoperable deliverables.

We firmly believe that these deliverables will become a standard requirement for data visualization, regardless of project size or the technical expertise involved. For example:

  • Structures: Creation of models derived from execution studies.
  • Geotechnics, Environment, Hydrogeology: Integration of subsurface data and structural design information into digital models.

This approach enhances collaboration and ensures precise, accessible data visualization across projects.
