The natural context of the site is marked by the presence of land with poor mechanical properties and a suspicion of a risk of liquefaction for the reference earthquake. For the construction phase FONDASOL recommended hydraulic dredging with a suction dredger, due to environmental constraints.

For the design of the dock, FONDASOL proposed precast caissons or the construction of a combi-wall.

Geotechnical investigations

• Core-drilled boreholes and pressuremeter tests in the sea and on land to depths of up to 15 m below the seabed.
• Laboratory tests: Identification, Atterberg limits, measurement of organic matter content, CU+U triaxial shear tests, oedometer compressibility tests, rock compressive strength tests, density and porosity tests

• Analysis and synthesis of the geological and geomechanical context of the site
• Liquefaction study
• Recommendations on the foundations to be created
• Geotechnical hypotheses to be taken into account to justify the design of the structures
• Particular backfilling recommendations
